A multi-year program ensuring hearing rooms on the Capitol campus have reliable features to support Congress' legislative duties.

Through the Hearing Room Modernization Program, these rooms in both the House and the Senate office buildings will receive important infrastructure upgrades and be brought into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, plus current fire and life safety codes.

The program includes updates to audiovisual systems and HVAC systems, along with dais modifications to accommodate current committee sizes and potential growth. It will also prioritize historic preservation, updating the rooms' carpeting, lighting, paint, furniture and finishes while keeping the rooms true to their original architectural intent.
