The mission of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is to serve Congress and the Supreme Court, preserve America's Capitol, and inspire memorable experiences. This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Budget Division. The incumbent serves as a full assistant to the Budget Officer.

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Engineer, Energy and Design Services Division, Fire Protection and Mechanical Engineering Branch. The selectee will serve as a Fire Protection Engineer providing expertise in the design, construction and/or modification of fire protection systems, equipment, assemblies or buildings coming under the jurisdiction of the AOC.

The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Superintendent, Senate Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent, Tenant Services Division, Upholstery Branch. The incumbent serves as Upholsterer installing upholstery, drapery and window treatments. Work involves contouring surfaces; use of upholstery tools, machines and techniques; with extensive knowledge of the historic appearance. Incumbent also assists with carpet installation.

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief Engineer, Design and Construction Acquisition Division, Design and Construction Branch. The selectee serves as a warranted Contract Specialist performing duties in connection with competitive bids, negotiated proposals and contractual agreements involving acquisition and programming of requirements, studies, design, major renovation, restoration, alteration, and repair and improvement to buildings and grounds.

The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Facility Manager, Buildings and Grounds Supreme Court. This is a career ladder position requiring the incumbent to progressively perform more independently to develop the experience required to reach the full performance level. The CVC is the public’s front door to the U.S. Capitol, offering tours and education programs as well as supporting congressional events. The selectee will serve as the Industrial Control Systems Specialist for the Capitol Power Plant and be responsible for communicating the functional requirements and specifications for the operation, reliability and maintenance of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) located at the Capitol Power Plant (CPP).

The position is the Electrician Assistant Supervisor and functions as the subordinate to the Electrician Supervisor. The incumbent, with the supervisor, plans, lays out, coordinates, directs, assigns, performs, and checks the work of subordinates. The selectee will serve as a Mechanical Engineer who provides professional support for Steam and Chilled Water related engineering for the Capital Power Plant (CPP) distribution system and plant buildings.

The incumbent serves as an Insulator Worker (Engineering Equipment Operator) performing routine tasks and assisting journey-level incumbents with assignments. As required, the helper assists higher grade Maintenance Mechanics with basic maintenance and repair work in electrical, air conditioning (A/C) and plumbing.

Seeking a reliable and dependable Building Inspector to examine offices, foyers, safety apparatuses and other public spaces to detect and rectify maintenance issues for Senators, Committees and their staffs.

Temporary plasterers will begin approximately the week of November 2024 and terminate at the conclusion of the project. Since office moves are scheduled six days a week, overtime may be required and will be mandatory. The selectees will serve as journey level Plasterers and perform standard painting tasks when necessary.

The House Office Buildings, Painting Branch seeks temporary painters for the upcoming 119th Congressional Transitions. Temporary painters will begin approximately November 2024 and terminate at the conclusion of the project. Since office moves are scheduled six days a week, overtime may be required and will be mandatory. Painters use standard methods and special finishing techniques to perform coating work on furnishings and buildings.

The Construction Management Division (CMD) performs construction, renovation and artisan projects for jurisdictions serving Congressional and Supreme Court clients. The selectee manages building construction, renovation and/or infrastructure projects and is responsible for life-cycle project supervision, providing expertise, coordination, oversight and direction for multiple projects throughout the agency.
