I am watching the Impeachment Trial and have been taken by the beautiful clock in the hall. So, I did a little research and found out a little bit about it. The Voigt Clock or Ohio Clock is stunning. (The floor it stands on adds to it’s beauty as well as the color of the walls.)_x000D_ I love DC and it’s history! _x000D_ Sincerely a very patriotic citizen from the Great State of Idaho,_x000D_ Mary Pasley
One "good" think coming out of the impeachment trial...my discovery of the Voigt Clock. Astounding piece, to be sure.
I too being a clock collector googled to find the history of the clock in the Senate hall ie the Voigt Clock.
Thanks for the history of all the clocks.
I have been watching the Impeachment trail also. I admired the clock and wanted to know how old it was. It is stunning and keeping time correctly. It is wonderful that we still have the older clocks and furniture in our government buildings. Things to cherish.
It's very impressive to see that the people in the Washington DC Capital have absolute great pride in preserving these beautiful early handcrafted clocks in the Capital building.
The Voigt clock with the Federal look featuring an eagle above the face of the dial is quite impressive. At this very moment, I do not know how many of these exist, but at least one is pictured in the hall near the Senate.
I'm a reverse painter for old and new clocks, and after seeing this clock, I just had to step in to comment on my thoughts. I would love to see this clock in real-time, only if I can afford to travel. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of history for many, many generations to come. Very impressive and I too love early clocks just like you fine people.
Respectfully yours, the citizens of the United States,
