AOC employees are responsible for the care and preservation of more than 100 varieties of trees and bushes planted around the U.S. Capitol, as well as outdoor sculptures including monuments, memorials and water features.

Chaplain James Ford Tree

U.S. Capitol Grounds commemorative tree in recognition of James David Ford, Chaplain Emeritus, sponsored by Speaker J. Dennis Hastert.

Chief Sequoyah Tree

U.S. Capitol Grounds commemorative tree planted by the Cherokee Indian Nation commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sequoyah.

Christopher Vetick Tree

A tree honoring the life and service of Mr. Christopher Vetick, Architect of the Capitol (AOC) former Deputy Director of Capitol Grounds and Arboretum.

District of Columbia Tree

U.S. Capitol Grounds commemorative tree to honor the District of Columbia and Its Residents sponsored by Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton.

Donnald Anderson Tree

U.S. Capitol Grounds memorial tree to honor Donnald K. Anderson for service to the House sponsored by Rep. Vic Fazio.

Ford Building Cherry Trees

Site of one variety: Japanese flowering (Prunus serrulata). These trees can be found on both the 2nd Street NW side and the 3rd Street NW side.
