Special Activities During Rotunda Closure

Outdoor Tours at the Capitol

Saturday, April 12 - Monday, April 28 — The Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol will close for two weeks from Saturday, April 12 through Monday, April 28, 2014 as part of the U.S. Capitol Dome Restoration Project. The closure is needed to install overhead netting to ensure safety in the Rotunda during the multi-year project

While the Rotunda is unavailable for tours, an alternate tour route in the Capitol will be provided. The Capitol Visitor Center will remain open during the closure of the Rotunda, and you are welcome to participate in a variety of special activities, such as Brumidi Corridors Tours and Outdoor Walking Tours.
