The Office of the Chief of Operations (OCO) oversees the operational jurisdictions that help fulfill the Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) mission.

Working together with other dedicated AOC staff, the OCO helps preserve and maintain the historic buildings, monuments, art and inspirational gardens across the Capitol campus. Each of the nine operational jurisdictions is responsible for distinct parts of the Capitol campus:

* The Chief Executive Officer for Visitor Services in charge of the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center reports administratively to the Architect of the Capitol but operates under the Chief of Operations.
